Revisiting the Optical Dispersion of Aluminum?Doped Zinc Oxide: New Perspectives for Plasmonics and Metamaterials

چکیده
Due to the high rate of optical losses and extensive usage noble metals, alternative plasmonic materials with maximum tunability low loss are desired for future metamaterial devices applications. Herein, potential aluminum-doped zinc oxide (AZO), one most prominent members transparent conducting family, is demonstrated, its applicability in metamaterials. Using first-principles density functional theory, combined calculations, AZO-based, split-ring resonators (SRRs) as model examples showcased. The results match experimental reports dielectric functions pure 2.08% Al-doped (ZnO), if Hubbard local approximation applied. broadband dispersion data varying dopant concentrations (0%, 2.08%, 6.25%) extracted provided. subsequent response analyses show existence pronounced plasmons inductor–capacitor modes ZnO SRRs an enhancement metallic characteristics performance AZO upon increasing Al concentration. findings predict a low-loss material promising capability enhancing optoelectronics method introduces new, versatile approach design arbitrary geometry.

Metallic metamaterials and plasmonics.
Our ability to control and harness light is undergoing a revolution, one that exploits the special properties of metals and our ability to structure them on a subwavelength scale. The materials that enable such control involve plasmonic and metallic metamaterials, materials that provide challenges for physicists and engineers that demand a multi-disciplinary approach. متن کاملGraphene plasmonics for tunable terahertz metamaterials.
Plasmons describe collective oscillations of electrons. They have a fundamental role in the dynamic responses of electron systems and form the basis of research into optical metamaterials. Plasmons of two-dimensional massless electrons, as present in graphene, show unusual behaviour that enables new tunable plasmonic metamaterials and, potentially, optoelectronic applications in the terahertz f...

the rationale behind the present study is that particular learning strategies produce more effective results when applied together. the present study tried to investigate the efficiency of the semantic-context strategy alone with a technique called, keyword method. to clarify the point, the current study seeked to find answer to the following question: are the keyword and semantic-context metho...
